AI4STEAM International Research Agenda

The AI4STEAM International Research Agenda represents a collaborative initiative led by the Digital Education Consulting (DEC) AI Research Division, the Diack Research Network, and PIED at the Virtual University of Senegal (UNCHK). Rooted in a shared commitment to educational equity and innovation, this agenda bridges the Southern University System (SUS) in Louisiana with the growing Senegalese AI and STEM Education Network. It focuses on advancing research and implementation across three core pillars: Open Educational Practices (OEP), AI for STEM Education (AI4STEM), and AI for Development (AI4D). The agenda emphasizes immersive learning environments, AI-enhanced instructional design, and inclusive digital transformation through multilingual, cross-sectoral, and community-driven strategies. By integrating stakeholders from HBCUs, African universities, research institutes, and grassroots teacher networks, the initiative seeks to develop scalable, JEDI-aligned (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) AI systems for STEAM learning, workforce development, and policy advocacy across the Global South.
